Privacy policy

We process as little data as possible. Here you can read which data we need and when, why – and what rights you have. The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which also applies in Norway, governs this.

2. Visiting the website

When you visit the website, our hosting provider (Vercel Inc., USA; certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework) processes technically necessary data such as IP address, time, page visited and browser type in server log files. This is needed to deliver the website securely (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The log files are deleted automatically after a short time.

We use no cookies, no tracking tools and no social media plugins. The fonts are hosted with the website – no connection is made to Google when you visit.

To see which pages are read, we use our hosting provider's visitor statistics (Vercel Web Analytics). It uses no cookies and stores no IP addresses; visitors are not recognised across days or websites. We only see aggregated figures such as page views, country and device type (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

3. Booking and contact forms, e-mail

The booking form stores your details (name, contact details, dates, houses, boats, number of people and message) in our booking database at Supabase (servers in the EU). You receive a confirmation of receipt by e-mail, sent via the Resend service. The general contact form on the home page does not send data to our server; it opens your e-mail program.

We use your e-mail – with your name, e-mail address and the details of your stay – to answer your enquiry and prepare your booking (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Our mailbox is provided by Google (Gmail). Data may be transferred to the USA; Google is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

4. Booking and stay

For your booking we store your name, contact details, dates, booked houses and boats, and payment information (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Accounting records are kept for as long as the Norwegian Bookkeeping Act requires (usually five years, Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR).

The availability overview on this website contains no names or other details about guests.

5. Fish export and FishReg

Under Norwegian law, anyone exporting fish from Norway needs personal documentation from a registered fishing tourism business. For this we record each angler's name, date of birth, home address, length of stay and catch data, and register them in the FishReg app (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR).

This data may be passed on to Norwegian authorities such as the Directorate of Fisheries and Customs where required by law.

6. GPS tracking of the boats

Our boats are fitted with GPS/GSM tracking and an emergency beacon, which records the boat's position during your rental. We use it only for your safety, to find the boat in an emergency, and to protect our boats (Art. 6(1)(d) and (f) GDPR). Position data is not used for anything else. It is deleted once it is no longer needed for these purposes.

7. Your rights

You have the right to access, rectify and erase your data, to restrict processing, to data portability and to object to processing based on legitimate interests. Just send us an e-mail.

You can also complain to a data protection authority – in Norway the Datatilsynet (datatilsynet.no), or the authority in your home country.
